Get to know Alumni Advisory Group member, Greg Gonzalez

Q: What is your current job title and what are some of your duties?

A: Director of Central Coast Farming at Foley Family Farms. I direct the operations of the company from Santa Barbara County to Monterey County.

Q: What was your favorite class at CSUMB?

A: Sea Floor Mapping

Q: Do you have any memorable moments while attending CSUMB that you would like to share?

A: Meeting my wife.

Q: How has CSUMB helped you get to where you are today?

A: CSUMB was all about pursuing the education that you desired based on you interest. Although they had pathways and departments, the University promoted cross discipline educational routes. This belief allowed me to gain the skills to capitalize on a professional opportunity in an industry that I had never imagined I would be a part of.

Q: Do you have any helpful tips for incoming freshman/transfer students?

A: Be dynamic with your education, don’t get too narrow. Make sure to take classes outside your concentration and explore opportunities. Get involved in the community and enjoy the beauty of Monterey.

Q: Do you have any helpful tips for new alumni entering the work force?

A: Choose a job not simply for the company or field, choose a mentor and a culture that fits what will allow you to thrive.

Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?

A: Enjoy my family, play soccer, and build things.
