Advising & Student Success

Students choosing a Business major or minor should seek major-specific advising as soon as they select Business.

Freshmen and Sophomores

The Business major requires some lower division classes (classes at the 200 level and below) during the first two years. These courses are pre-requisites for upper division classes.

Transfers, Juniors, and Seniors

Work closely with your advisor each semester to make sure that you are taking all the required classes and progressing efficiently towards graduation.

Business minors

Most students getting a business minor can do so with only 4 upper division Business classes for which the pre-reqs are waived. Students are encouraged to meet with an advisor early to create a minor learning plan.

Center for Advising, Career, & Student Success

The Center for Advising, Career & Student Success is the hub for all your academic advising needs at CSUMB.
