I joined CSUMB in the CAHSS Office of the Dean in 2016. At present, my primary areas of focus include operations, space management and planning (including key and card access for all CAHSS employees, CAHSS 504 building management, space planning and improvement projects for our 10 buildings), web publishing/marketing/social media, and working with the Dean on development/donations. I’m well-suited to operations projects, and view some of my greatest strengths as attention to detail, tracking multiple projects through to completion, strategic planning for a variety of potential outcomes/results, and preparing effective communications and marketing pieces. I am a great dig in and get things done team player and while I can thrive in a team environment, I can also be trusted to work independently and professionally. I’m also proud to serve on the inaugural CSUMB Staff Council in an Executive Committee role as Treasurer. I also serve on the University Budget Committee through my role as Treasurer of Staff Council.
Prior to joining CSUMB, I worked at Santa Clara University (Santa Clara, CA) for 8 years, where I was Program Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. My role there included management of the following: academic Minor in Entrepreneurship, California Program for Entrepreneurship (CAPE-the CIE’s signature outreach free six-month cohort program with 185/152 ventures alumni at the time of my departure), startup expo internship fair, enrichment opportunities for students (weekly speaker series, Silicon Valley field trips, office hours with an entrepreneur), quarterly advisory board meetings, webmaster, and budget/finance manager for the Center.
In my pre-California life, I have 22 years in marketing and PR/corporate communications experience for financial institutions in Scranton, Pennsylvania. I was the Marketing and Business Development Manager for Penn East Federal Credit Union just before I moved to Silicon Valley, and prior to that, was the Public Relations Officer in the Marketing and Corporate Communications Department for PNC Bank Northeast PA Headquarters, where I worked for 18 years right out of college. For fans of “The Office” television show, my very first job at 16 years old was typing invoices and handling accounts receivables for a small, independent paper company.
I’m a proud first-generation college graduate. Outside of work, I enjoy kayaking, baking, cooking, traveling adventures near and far, puzzles and board games, crocheting, exploring the nature trails around my home, and often bike ride to work. I greatly value my home/family time, and am a first-time dog mom and an enthusiastic but horrible fantasy football player in our neighborhood league. My phone camera gallery is packed with nature, food, and dog photos.
