SBGS Faculty Awarded $50,000 Russell Sage Foundation Grant
February 8, 2023
Congratulations to Social, Behavioral, and Global Studies Professor Angie Tran and Lecturer Lorenzo Covarrubias on being awarded a $50,000 Russell Sage Foundation grant.
Angie writes, "It is the result of tremendous hard work of a team: me, Lorenzo, Doug, Clarisa (Avila)and her University Advancement team. This proposed project, “H-2A Mexican Agricultural Guestworkers: Navigating opportunities and risks in California and improving quality of life in Mexico,” with Lorenzo as co-PI, means a lot to me, not only because it reflects my research interests on transnational labor migration and workers' agency, but also because it connects to most of the students in my classes here at this HSI campus. I'm very grateful to the "dream team" and excited to engage in this new direction of my scholarly work, in collaboration with Lorenzo!"
