The Nursing, Social Work, and Physician Assistant programs hosted an Interprofessional Education (IPE) event on October 18th. Several students from each program were placed at tables with local community thought leaders in order to discuss a fictional case study of a patient with terminal illness. The event seeks to help students understand the different specialties of the practitioners who may be working alongside them on a complex, interdisciplinary case such as this one.

In this case study, students practiced how they might deliver care to a patient with Stage 5 terminal cancer as they moved from hospital care to home hospice. Listen to their summaries below!
