On October 16th, the MSPA program hosted students interested in a career in healthcare. The event was facilitated by Hugo Gutierrez, RN, BSN, a recent CSUMB Nursing graduate and Christopher Forest, DHSc, DFAAPA, PA-C, Professor and Master of Science Physician Assistant (MSPA) Program Director. Students got the opportunity to learn about the profession, talk with current MSPA students and observe a lab demonstration on IV insertions.

After the event, Mr. Gutierrez remarked, "I was thoroughly impressed with some of the things Dr. Forest had to say. I was very appreciative of the interest he's taken in our community. It makes me feel good that there are still people out there who are genuinely trying to help the underserved populations of our area".

This event was part of a funded initiative from California's Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI).
