The Cost of Attendance (COA) is the estimated cost to attend CSUMB during the 9-month academic year (August to May). While your individual costs may vary, the COA reflects a modest living allowance. Figures are from CSU’s recommended standard student budgets in conjunction with CSAC’s Student Expense Budgets. In CSUMB COA, we include the following items:
- Tuition and Fees
- Books, Course materials, supplies, and equipment
- Living expenses
- Transportation
- Miscellaneous
- Direct Loan origination fees (for those who borrow a Federal Direct loan)

More than 6 units: $2,871 per semester
Graduate
0–6 units: $2,082 per semester
More than 6 units: $3,588 per semester
Credential Program Tuition (Qualified Only)
0–6 units: $1,932 per semester
More than 6 units: $3,330 per semester
Non-resident Students (U.S. and Foreign)
Nonresident Tuition: $396 per semester unit.
(In addition to basic tuition fees and other systemwide fees charged all students)
