Tuition Fee Exceptions
For some students, tuitions, and fees may be different than standard tuition.
Students from another CSU register at CSUMB, but pay registration fees at home campus. Tuition Fee and Campus Fees are waived, but student is responsible for paying CSUMB course/lab fees. For questions regarding tuition, please contact home campus. For questions regarding lab fees, please contact CSU Monterey Bay Campus Service Center at 831-582-5100.
Eligible Dependents of Veterans as described in Ed Code Section 66025.3. may have their Tuition Fee waived. Students are responsible for paying all remaining Campus Fees. For more information on eligibility and the application process for the official waiver letter contact your local County Veterans Office. Turn in your official "College Fee Waiver Authorization Letter (Plan A or B)” to the CSUMB Student Veteran Services Office.
Tuition Fee is waived for eligible staff and faculty, and their dependents, spouses, or partners to take up to 2 classes or 6 units, whichever is greater. Student is responsible for campus fees, which is determined by the bargaining unit the staff or faculty member is in. Student is also responsible for any course/lab fees.
California Residents who are dependent survivors of person killed in the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks. Tuition Fee is waived. Student is responsible for Campus Fees and any course/lab fees. Written notification from the California Victims Compensation and Government Claims Board is required and should be sent to the Office of Admissions.

Applicants must be the natural or adopted child of a deceased law enforcement official or fire fighter who was a California resident, and killed as a result of the performance of official duties. Tuition Fee is waived. Student is responsible for Campus Fees and any course/lab fees. Students wanting further application information should contact the Office of Admissions, at 831-582-3738.
Students enrolled full time (12+ units) at Hartnell CC, MPC, Cabrillo CC, Evergreen Valley CC, and UC Santa Cruz may enroll in one class (only) here, during the same semester.
