About the College of Education
Our offerings
Founded in 2014, the College of Education offers two undergraduate degrees and multiple minors, along with professional credentials, authorizations and pathways to creating a fundamentally equitable educational system.
With three graduate degrees in education, school psychology, and speech-language pathology, our college meets the needs of an ever-growing student population in the Central Coast of California, ensuring local education embraces inclusive practices.

Centers
- The Center for Educational Supports (CES) Clinic serves as an education and training site for the graduate students in the school psychology program.
- The Center for Reading Diagnosis and Instruction (Reading Center) focuses on reading assessment, instruction, research, and professional development related to reading and literacy development.
- The Making Accessible and Effective Systems for Teacher Readiness Outcomes (MAESTROs) program expands and enhances student support structures, and improves retention and graduation rates of Hispanic and low-income education pathway students, to help fulfill critical teacher workforce needs in Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito counties.
- The Monterey Institute for English Learners (MIEL) is committed to improving the rate of English Language acquisition and academic performance of English Learners.
