Training Week at Universidad del País Vasco (UPV)

In June 2018, California State University, Monterye Bay celebrated its three-year partnership with the University of the Basque Country (Universidad del Pais Vasco) in the Basque region in Northern Spain. The university has 3 different locations in San Sebastian, Victoria and Bilbao. Each campus location has their own programs and offerings available for CSUMB students.
As part of the Erasmus program, the University of the Basque Country received a grant to host an International Staff Training Week. During this week there were over 30 universities from Europe, Asia and North America who represented their campus.
The CSUMB Office of International Programs applied to receive a grant for travel and expenses. We were very excited to have been selected as one of the participating universities. On behalf of CSU Monterey Bay, Julio Castro, the Education Abroad Coordinator attended and presented on best practices at CSUMB International Programs. The presentation topic was "Ways to motivate students to study abroad". We were able to speak to the type of students CSUMB has and ways we encourage students to participate in exchange programs.
