PG&E East Campus Gas Pipeline Replacement Project

Pacific Gas and Electric Company will modernize natural gas pipelines in East Campus to enhance natural gas safety and reliability for residents. The work will take place on Schoonover Drive from Abrams Drive to Bundage Court, including all the courts between those two intersections in Marina.

Each court will receive a notification before work starts. Work is expected to start Monday, Oct. 2, 2023, and continue for approximately eight months through May 2024. Weather and other factors that affect safe working conditions may change the schedule.

Safe release of natural gas

Workers will safely release a small, controlled amount of natural gas, and you may hear a loud and steady noise and notice the smell of gas. This is normal while crews work, but anyone with concerns may call PG&E at 1-800-743-5000.

Potential traffic impacts

On-street parking will be limited on courts. “No Parking” signs will be placed at least 24 hours before work begins. Flaggers will route traffic around work areas as needed. Roadways may be reduced to one lane. Driveway access may be temporarily restricted during daytime hours, but workers can provide access upon request. Please plan for minor delays if work is occurring outside your home or business.

Environmental review

The project will not significantly impact environmental resources. View the Biological Resources Report.
