Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Equity Advocates Program Spotlight

September 25, 2023

CSUMB maintains its commitment to maintaining a diverse workforce; thus, all members of the Talent Search Committee are considered active advocates for the university's commitment to intentionally creating a diverse and inclusive community. The Equity Advocate (EA) works to ensure the university's commitment to promoting the most effective and inclusive search possible, providing additional expertise, facilitating the existing knowledge and commitment of the Talent Selection Committee, and helping with the Human Resources team's established role of monitoring the process during all phases to ensure equal consideration of all applicants. The EA ensures all employees and applicants receive equal consideration and respectful treatment.

The Office of Inclusive Excellence and Sustainability oversees the Equity Advocates training initiative. It is partnering with the Human Resources Employee Development team to develop a comprehensive learning path to support the onboarding of Equity Advocates within CSUMB.
