Rote Program Initiatives
Applied Research & Collaborations
The Rote Program focuses entirely on applied (or user-driven) research projects. Projects are designed and implemented with the input of those who will ultimately use the resultant information.
With the VR SCUBA 360 curriculum, your classroom becomes the ocean and your students are marine scientists. Through the use of virtual reality headsets and smartphones, students collect real world data along an underwater transect.
Marine science scholarships are provided to CSUMB undergraduate and graduate students that explore the critical science which helps shape environmental governance: for thesis research, exploration of career pathways, and influential public outreach.
The Rote Lecture Series brings renowned speakers to campus to discuss a variety of subjects related to the interface of science and policy.
The marine science documentary A Deep Dive Into... explores, through the lens of Dr. Lindholm's student research team, the ecological stories that happen 'in people's backyards'.
