Department of Mathematics and Statistics
Building a Community of Learners
Regardless of your goals as a mathematician or statistician, the journey is better with others. We work hard to build community in our Department by creating opportunities and spaces for students to gather together for learning and fun! Whether a movie night, making origami, or engaging in community outreach, we enjoy gathering together regularly throughout the academic year.
Join our Math and Science Teacher Initiative (MSTI) community if you plan to become a teacher! We meet approximately four times per semester to discuss issues related to math/science teaching and to becoming a teacher. We also share opportunities to participate in math/science teaching and learning activities for secondary students or teachers. This community is a great way to get to know other future teachers and faculty who provide support on your road to becoming a teacher!

The Math and Stat club is dedicated to fostering an inclusive community of students who are passionate about mathematics and statistics. We also strive to strengthen the understanding of mathematical and statistical concepts through practical application and club activities. Finally, we are committed to supporting each member through their journey at CSUMB.
