Summer Program
This program is like the School Year Indoor Program where you work closely with a mentor teacher and tutor migratory students in academic areas.
Outdoor education
The Mini-Corps teacher assistants work at camp sites throughout California. The classroom is the outdoor setting. The tutors become the teachers and expose migratory students to real life science and teach them to enjoy and respect nature. Migrant students are able to use scientific investigation in their everyday learning activities.
Puppetry
Mini-Corps Puppetry students are trained in presentation techniques wherein puppets serve as the vehicle for creative instruction in personal, mental health, and self-esteem. The puppets will engage the migrant students and their families in verbal experiences through effective puppet presentations, story boards, creative expression, and multicultural experiences.
