Alyssa Erikson's program of research entails exploring topics in palliative care, hospice and bereavement support from both families’ and healthcare professionals’ (HCP) perspectives to better understand improving family-centered care practices across settings. She serves on the program planning committee for Jerry's Place, a Social Model Hospice initiative through the Jerry Rubin Foundation for Cancer Care. Jerry's Place provides a furnished room and caregiving for people with a terminal illness. She also serves as the faculty director at CSUMB for the CSU Shiley Haynes Institute for Palliative Care.
