Relevant bio
Kenny Garcia is a first-generation Dominican-American college graduate. He earned his BA in History and English-Creative Writing from SUNY-Binghamton, MA in Liberal Studies from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and MLIS in Library Science from San Jose State University. Kenny has been working in libraries for over 15 years. He is a past-president of REFORMA, the National Association to Promote Library and Information Services to Latinos and the Spanish-Speaking, and has held leadership positions within the American Library Association and the Association of College and Research Libraries. Kenny is currently a co-director of the CSUMB Center for Latinx Student Success. He speaks Spanish and English.
