Suzanne/Susana identifies as a proud bilingual (Spanish/English) Latina/Chicana, first-generation college student and mamá raising multilingual daughters. Her research examines the intersection of language, race, class and other identities in linguistically diverse school contexts. Most recently, she has explored how the cultural and language practices of parents from Latiné and Indigenous backgrounds support and sustain the bi/multilingual learning of their children across generations and borders. Suzanne's publication trajectory includes academic articles in top journals, op-eds in local newspapers, multicultural children's books, and most recently, she co-edited a book titled “Gentrification and Bilingual Education: A Texas TWBE School across Seven Years.”
