CSUMB Global Studies Major Receives Scholarship of Excellence Award

SEASIDE, Ca., December 6, 2019 – CSUMB Global Studies major Palia Vang was recently recognized for her high academic achievements and exceptional service provided to auxiliary organizations on campus. Vang works in a variety of roles serving the Otter Student Union (OSU) and Student Housing & Residential Life where her positive and upbeat attitude has impacted thousands of visitors to campus.

As a result of her exceptional service to campus auxiliaries, she was selected by the Auxiliary Organizations Association (AOA) to receive their 2020 Scholarship of Excellence award. The award is in the amount of $5,000 that Palia can use towards her education at CSUMB.

The mission of the AOA is to facilitate the role of individual auxiliaries on their respective campuses by providing the auxiliaries with the resources and services that enable them to be more effective.

“I’d like to thank CSUMB’s OSU and Housing Staff that have given me the opportunity to become involved in non-profit auxiliary associations,” said Vang. “I still feel very overwhelmed with shock and joy that I am being awarded with this scholarship. I have never been so grateful in my life. I sincerely thank the AOA administration for awarding me and helping me continue my journey with college and these auxiliaries.”
