Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is an academic degree in the science and principles of nursing that broadens the expanse of nursing practice and qualifies students for advanced professional career opportunities in a wider array of healthcare settings, both locally and globally.
CSUMB offers two pathways for students to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing, ADN-to-BSN and RN-to-BSN. Entry into the CSUMB BSN program will only be for those students who have graduated with an Associates Degree in Nursing program (ADN) and hold a current California Registered Nursing license, or will earn a California RN license prior to last semester in the program.
Our courses are offered in a hybrid modality, a blend of on-line and face-to-face courses, that maximizes access opportunities for students. Courses are typically scheduled all on the same day to accommodate students' schedules. The BSN program can be completed in as little as 3 to 5 semesters depending on the program pathway.
ADN to BSN pathway
The ADN to BSN is a collaborative dual-enrollment program between CSUMB and local community college partners. This facilitates a seamless progression towards a BSN degree.
RN to BSN pathway
The RN to BSN pathway is designed for students who possess an active unrestricted California R.N. License and want to further their careers by earning a BSN degree. Full or part time options are available.
This program is approved for the Public Health Nursing Certificate by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
