Welcome to the Raft!
We are excited that you are about to become a fellow Otter, joining an amazingly involved and diverse community of over 7,500 students. CSUMB is a great place to live and learn. We can not wait to show you more about the university and ensure your successful transition at New Student Otter Orientation! Your session is designed to help you begin to feel at home on campus and help you become familiar with the wide range of academic opportunities that are available.
Keep an Eye on Your Email
Tuesdays with Monte is your weekly email guiding you through your transition to California State University, Monterey Bay. The campus will share important action items and deadlines, introduce you to campus resources and activities, and put you in touch with people here to support your success.
Part I: Online Orientation
Self-Guided Online Orientation -- Beginning on March 4th, you will have access to complete your virtual training modules by logging in with your 9 digit student ID. Tuition and fees are due by July 31, 2024.
Part II: On Campus Orientation
Your one-day on-campus orientation will help you connect with campus resources, meet new peers and fellow classmates, hear from an Academic Advisor, and develop connections with fellow students, staff, and faculty.
Orientation Dates
Registration opens on MyRaft on March 4th. Student Orientation groups will be identified by major.
- Orientation is June 20, 21, and 22, 2024
- Confirm your Enrollment and pay the $100 Enrollment Confirmation Fee.
- Your student account will be created 24-48 hours after you have paid the Enrollment Confirmation Fee.
- Login to MyRaft with the CSU Monterey Login button using your CSUMB username (e.g. mont1234) and password to register for a New Student Otter Orientation session.
- If you are unable to access your MyRaft account within 48 hours after paying your Enrollment Confirmation Fee, don't hesitate to get in touch with MyRaft for support.
Only students who have confirmed their intent to enroll at CSUMB and have paid their enrollment confirmation fee, before July 31st, will be able to login and register. It will take 24-48 hours for your information to be added to the MyRaft system for you to be able to register for an orientation session. If you haven't confirmed yet and would like to, contact the Admissions Office.
Guest Policy
Guests must be registered by their student in order to attend an orientation session. Payment of the guest fee is required prior to your orientation date. Refunds are permitted up to 2 weeks prior to the session date. Email your refund request and include your student’s name, date of payment and reason for the refund. Requests received within 2 weeks of a session will not be accepted.Please note that a processing fee is charged for each refund requested. Refunds can take from 2-3 weeks to post and are returned to the credit card on file. Fees are transferable to a different date if you select a different session, email for more information.Accommodations
For disability accommodations, to request sign language interpreters, or for any questions, please inform us at least one month prior to your orientation session by calling us at (831) 582-4693 or by emailing orientation@csumb.edu.
- Confirm your Enrollment and pay the $100 Enrollment Confirmation Fee.
- Pay the enrollment fee online by July 31, 2024
- Register for Orientation with any guests
- Upload OtterCard photo
- Once you have paid your Enrollment Confirmation, check your personal email account for an email giving you access to our photo upload site. From there, you can upload the photo of your choice as your OtterCard photo.
- You will receive your OtterCard at your New Student Orientation.
- Submit transcripts to admissions
- Check out on-campus housing options and meal plans
- Connect with a Financial Aid Counselor
Part III: Officially Joining the Raft
Register for Otter Days events taking place from move-in through September 1st!
