First-Year Otter Success Courses
The First-Year Otter Success program at CSU Monterey Bay consists of both Math and Writing courses designed to get you prepared for your Freshman year. All of CSU Monterey Bay's First-year Otter Success courses are credit bearing. Course Description: This course contains topics which directly support student success in general education mathematics/quantitative reasoning courses. Focuses on basic concepts and skills and effective communication of quantitative information and concepts. Develops student confidence in their mathematical ability by active participation in the classroom.

Course Description: In this brief course, we will consider how to successfully make the transition from high school to college reading and writing. We will reflect on how we read, how we write, and what problem-solving strategies we can use to improve both. We will also reflect on the challenges that may arise for new college students and how other students have overcome them.
