The University Police Department is committed to preserving a safe environment for everyone! Whether you are a student, faculty, staff member, resident, or just visiting, your safety and well-being is important to us.
        
The Police Department public counter is open Monday-Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, but closed in compliance with the university holiday calendar. Officers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; if you need any help, please call (831) 655-0268 for non-emergency situations.

If you are a victim of crime or a witness to a crime, report it to University Police Department in person or by calling 831-655-0268 as soon as possible. You can also send us an anonymous tip. For emergencies, call 911.

Three Divisions

There are three divisions within the University Police Department, each of which serves a vital purpose to the safety and wellbeing of our campus community.

Emergency Management 

The Emergency Management Division under University Police works with the extended CSUMB community to coordinate emergency planning, training, response, and recovery efforts during earthquakes, wildfires, floods, tsunamis, civil unrest, and other major disasters.

 

Parking Services

The Parking Services Division is committed to ensuring your stay will be both safe and enjoyable, no matter if you are a visitor, a student, a member of the University Staff, or a resident on the CSUMB campus.

Transportation

The Transportation Division provides resources to various forms of transportation including but not limited to on-campus shuttle routes, bicycle rentals, Zipcar memberships, and electric scooter rates.
