Bike patrol
In April, 2023, the CSU Monterey Bay Bike Unit launched with two officers. The officers assigned to the unit work regular patrol assignments and deploy on the bikes as often as possible.
The mobility of the e-bikes the officers ride, allows them to move rapidly around the campus to address issues promptly. The visibility and accessibility to be more interactive with our Otter community as they are walking about campus is a huge bonus for community engagement.
Our bike officers are fully trained to respond to all emergencies and the bikes may be equipped with all the tools and resources they need to be fully functional and respond to the needs of our community.
