I went to work for IBM from 1979-2010 and worked on applying computers to manufacturing and quality assurance, and later worked on development of DB2 which is IBM's relational database system, and still later on WebSphere which is IBM's Java web application server. I left IBM in 2010 and have been teaching computer science and math courses at Hartnell, Monterey Peninsula College and now CSUMB. Besides teaching, I like to cook, read, travel and hike. I have been to China, Japan, South America, Europe, Australia, Caribbean islands and have hiked in Yosemite, the Grand Canyon and Death Valley.
