I am an Assistant Professor at the School of Computing and Design (SCD) at California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB). I primarily teach courses in the system concentration. My current research is focused on developing visualization tools for RNA 3D structure analysis and designing computational methods to analyze RNA-Protein interactions.

I am also interested in working with students’ groups to apply Evolutionary Computation in solving real-life optimization problems. Before coming to CSUMB, I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Summer 2020, under the supervision of Dr. Shaojie Zhang. My dissertation title was “Computational Methods for Discovery and Analysis of RNA Structural Motifs”. I also worked as a faculty member for four years at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). Additionally, I have been working as a competitive programming coach and trained teams at the UCF and SUST. As a coach, I contributed to the milestone student success at the International Collegiate Programming Contests World Finals, including a SUST team reaching there in 2012 and a UCF team becoming the North America champion in 2018 (both are the first such achievement in the university history). I am interested to continue my coaching work with the CSUMB students in improving their problem-solving skills as teams and bring similar success accordingly.
