Housing Accommodations
To understand more about disability accommodations in housing, it may be useful to read an introduction at the National Center for College Students with Disabilities Training Center website.
Requests for CSUMB campus housing accommodations based on medical, psychological, hearing, or other disability related needs are processed by Student Disability and Accessibility Center (SDAC) in consultation with Student Housing and Residential Life (SHRL), and other CSUMB departments as needed.
For those of you who are interested in campus housing for the 2024-2025 academic year and are in need of a related housing accommodation, we will be opening the SDAC Housing Application on March 1 for priority consideration.
Please follow these steps to ensure timely consideration of your Housing Accommodation Requests
Steps:
-
Complete the SDAC Housing Application if you do not yet have one on file.
-
If you previously had a Housing accommodation, you do not need to complete another Housing application.
-
If you only have Classroom accommodations, you will need to complete the separate Housing application.
-
Please schedule an appointment with an advisor by writing sdac@csumb.edu, or calling 831-582-3672.
-
During the meeting, your Housing accommodation request for 2024-25 will be discussed
-
Updated/Current documentation will be reviewed
-
Next steps will be discussed (if applicable)
-
Complete the Student Housing and Residential Life housing application (opens March 4).
PRIORITY CONSIDERATION PERIOD: Applications received March 1 - April 1.
Applications received by SDAC after that time are still accepted. Due to limited availability, we strongly recommend submitting your housing applications during the priority consideration period for the best opportunity to receive your requested housing accommodation.
Housing at CSUMB can be heavily impacted. Some disability-related housing accommodations may take up to six months to implement.
