Fall 2023 planning week events for faculty
The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment (TLA) welcomes part-time lecturers and tenure-line faculty to California State University, Monterey Bay! We are excited to have you join our campus community.
New Faculty Orientation (NFO) will take place primarily on Zoom Thursday, August 17th, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm (with a 4:00 pm in-person social thereafter!) and Monday, August 21st, 9:00 am - 12:30 pm. This experience will position new faculty for success as we orient to campus resources and technology, connect with colleagues and the campus community, and innovate teaching pedagogy. The NFO is intended to jumpstart everyone's educational journey with our incredible, diverse students!
For all faculty, we look forward to working closely with you to support your teaching, learning, and assessment needs throughout the fall semester. Here are some early-semester professional development opportunities for all faculty:
Faculty Success Workshop Series
Communication Across the Disciplines (CAD), TLA, and CAT are proud to announce our professional development workshops next week!
Tuesday, August 22, 10-11am – Canvas: Intro/New Semester Refresher
Join the CAT team to kick off the semester right. You’ll learn to: use the export and import functions to roll over course content; update all course assignment due dates in a single "batch" process; publish course content; access the "Test Student" function; locate supportive resources.
