Advising

Students may declare Cinematic Arts and Technology as their major upon admission to CSUMB. If you are a CSUMB student who wishes to become a Cinematic Arts Major, you can request a change of major using the Major/Minor Change Form and submit it to Records and Registration.

If you would like to Minor in Cinematic Arts, schedule to meet with an advisor to develop an Minor Individual Learning Plan (ILP) that will best complement your major and support your career interests.

The Cinematic Arts & Technology Department offers academic advising support throughout the year to current and prospective students . Students are encouraged to take advantage of our support services and to consult with our advisor regarding course choices, capstone interests, career and graduate school options. Advisor consultation and review of schedules is strongly encouraged to ensure that you undertake the pathway that will best serve your interests and goals.

To schedule an appointment with Naomi Bolanos, the Cinematic Arts adviser, please email her at nbolanos@csumb.edu or call 831-582-3418. Meetings will take place in her office at the Library, 3rd Floor.

Walk-in advising is also available for Cinematic Arts students on Wednesdays from 8:30am-4:30pm in the Library, 3rd Floor.

Faculty meetings

During Fall and Spring semesters, you may schedule to meet with any faculty to discuss capstone ideas, career mentoring or any curricular or career questions.
