OASIS Employee Access
OASIS is the primary system of student records and data. CSUMB and Corporation employees may need access to this system to support students. The process of receiving access to OASIS data depends on your role at CSUMB.
Security Awareness Training
- All CSUMB employees (except for faculty) and Non-CSUMB employees (temps, persons of interest, guest speakers, volunteers, etc) must satisfy security awareness training by completing the following course in the SumTotal training system: Data Security and FERPA.
- Once the training is completed, a Data Access Request (DAR) Form must be submitted. Please find the DAR form in one of the below Access links pertaining to your position.
Active Faculty members are automatically provisioned access to the OASIS Faculty Center.
- Faculty Center Help
- Does not require a Data Access Request Form.
- Information Security & Privacy Rights Training Recommended.
The Advising Center administers access.
Faculty Advisor
- Faculty Advisors are designated by the Office of the Provost
- Does not require a Data Access Request Form
- Requires Information Security & Privacy Rights Training

Staff Advisor
- Staff Advisor Access is Requested by Department Manager
- Requires Advising Data Access Request Form
- Requires Information Security & Privacy Rights Training
Submit to the Advising Center.
Center of Advising
- Who: Peer Mentors working directly for the Advising Center and Student Assistants working for the Business Dept
- Requires Training by the Center of Advising
- Requires Advising Data Access Request Form
- Requires Information Security & Privacy Rights Training
Submit to the Advising Center.
All Other Departments
- Who: Peer mentors working for Early Student Outreach and Support (EOSP), Student Housing, and Peer Mentors/Student Assistants not working for the Business Department
- Requires Department training.
- Requires Alternate Data Access Request Form
- Requires Information Security & Privacy Rights Training
Submit to Student Information Systems.
Access to OASIS is granted based on an employee's role or position at CSUMB.
- Academic Support Staff must complete a Catalog and Schedule Class training.

Requires Information Security & Privacy Rights Training. Submit the Alternate Data Access Request Form to request the following types of access:
- Student Assistant (Student Assistants in Business Dept use the Advising Data Request)
- Peer Mentors (for Early Outreach and Support Programs)
- Temporary Employee
- Custom/Ad-hoc OASIS Access
- OAS (Oracle Analytics Server)
- OnBase Enterprise Content Management (ECM)
- CSUMB Data Warehouse
Submit your form to the Enterprise & Engagement Applications Security Analyst at enterprise_security@csumb.edu.
- Access is pre-defined for each position listed on the New Employee Data Access Request form.

Role Creation
The purpose of this form is to submit a request to create a new role, with custom access, in OASIS. Typically roles are created for new positions or adhoc access. This form requires a department manager's approval.
Role Update
The purpose of this form is to submit a request to update an already existing role in OASIS. Typically roles are updated when a user requires additional access to fulfill their job duties. Access may also be updated when custom pages are built or delivered in OASIS. This form requires a department manager's approval.
