Areas to Support
The following gift opportunities can be funded with outright gifts, bequests or other types of planned gifts.
By supporting the annual fund with an unrestricted gift, you make it possible for CSU Monterey Bay to foster research and innovation among faculty and students. These funds give campus leadership the flexibility to respond to the unique challenges and opportunities that arise each year. With state support falling, the university increasingly relies on this type of private support to maintain a margin of excellence.
For the 60 to 70 percent of CSUMB students who qualify for some form of aid, scholarships can make the difference between achieving their educational goals or a dream deferred. If you wish to support scholarships, you may choose from one of our existing scholarship funds, which range from athletics to general need, or decide to establish a new named scholarship endowment fund.
Endowments generate perpetual income that can support a range of needs at the university, including scholarships, professorships, or a specific department or program that interests you. The minimum gift necessary to establish a scholarship endowment is $25,000. Through an endowment, your generosity and your name can live on perpetuity and improve the educational experience of students for generations.

Student Emergency Fund
The global COVID pandemic brought with it unprecedented disruption to all of our lives.
At CSUMB, we moved quickly to remote teaching modalities ensuring minimal disruption to student learning. This helps our students stay on track with their studies and helps them finish the academic semester successfully.
The transition and the realities of the COVID impact resulted in emergency needs for students, including housing, technology accessibility and connectivity, child care concerns, and food insecurity. The Provost Student Emergency Fund provides assistance and relief to our students in the most urgent of need.
Thank you to our friends and supporters who donate. This fund and other donor-supported student funds provide CSUMB students in need with the ability to cover rent payments, use laptops and hotspots, living essentials, and food access to our most vulnerable populations.
We will continue to meet the needs of all students affected, and we thank you for your continued support. Your generosity has a lasting positive impact on student’s lives when they need it the most.
We hope you will donate to the Provost Student Emergency Fund today and help us continue to assist CSUMB students with essential needs while they work to enhance their lives, their family’s well being, and our community.
