Announcements

  • CSUMB affiliates (students, staff, or faculty) may board any Monterey-Salinas Transit Bus in the network for free by swiping their Otter IDs. This is enabled only during the Fall and Spring Semesters.
  • There will be no Line 25 service during the Spring Break, Monday, March 25th to Monday, April 1st.  CSUMB Spring Break (includes Chavez Day)

Monterey-Salinas Transit

Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) is Monterey County's regional public transit provider. Regular service extends throughout Monterey County.

MST.org is the best resource for up-to-date route maps, schedules, and trip planning information. 

Your Otter ID Card is your fare

Bring your Otter ID card to swipe as your board the bus during the Fall and Spring Semesters.

Routes serving campus

MST serves the CSUMB campus on the following bus lines. The main transit hub where all MST buses serve CSUMB and where transfers may occur is the 4th Avenue / CSUMB Alumni & Visitor's Center stop.

Popular destinations are listed below with directions to get there via public transit:

  • From the CSUMB Alumni & Visitor's Center:

    MST Line 18 provides bus service every hour to The Dunes Shopping Center.

    • Weekdays 7:00 AM until 9:00 PM
    • Weekends 8:00 AM until 7:00 PM
  • From the CSUMB Alumni & Visitor's Center:

    1. Take Line 17/18 to Sand City
    2. Remain on the bus, it will change to JAZZ A/B
    3. JAZZ A/B will travel to Monterey Transit Plaza in Downtown Monterey, then continue to the Monterey Bay Aquarium

  • MST Line 25

    Line 25 is a direct route between the CSUMB Alumni & Visitor's Center and the Salinas Transit Center. Please note that Line 25 only operates during the Spring and Fall Semesters hourly on weekdays only from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Outside of those time frames, follow the directions below:

    1. Take Line 17/18 to Marina Transit Exchange
    2. Transfer to MST Line 20

  • From the CSUMB Alumni & Visitor's Center:

    1. Take Line 17/18 to Sand City
    2. Remain on the bus, it will change to JAZZ A/B
    3. Transfer at Monterey Transit Plaza to MST Line 8

MST Paratransit Service
