Housing Accommodations
To understand more about disability accommodations in housing, it may be useful to read an introduction at the National Center for College Students with Disabilities Training Center website.
Requests for CSUMB campus housing accommodations based on medical, psychological, hearing, or other disability related needs are processed by Student Disability Resources (SDR) in consultation with Student Housing and Residential Life (SHRL), and other CSUMB departments as needed.
For timely consideration of housing accommodations for Fall 2022, submit your requests before the priority date on or before June 1st, 2022. Any requests received after June 1st will be considered for Spring 2023.
Housing at CSUMB can be heavily impacted. Some disability-related housing accommodations may take up to six months to implement.
Every academic year, students must follow the same process to request renewal of their housing accommodation. Annually review the SHRL application deadlines and schedule an SDR Advisor appointment after submitting your housing application.
To request a disability-related housing accommodation:
- Apply for campus housing with Student Housing and Residential Life
- Login to your CSUMB.edu email account and look for emails from Student Housing and Residential Life to complete each step before the deadline.
- Schedule an appointment with an SDR Advisor early in the Student Housing assignment process to carefully review requirements, and to complete SDR registration steps outlined on the Getting Started webpage.
