Recreation Accommodations

CSUMB offers a variety of recreational options through credit-earning courses, Adventure Connections, and student organizations.

The Otter Aquatic Center has an outdoor pool with a lift, and roll in showers with wall benches. If you need an assistant at the pool, lift and/or locker room, plan to arrange your own personal care attendant.

The Otter Sports Center has a gym, weights and some machines that are usable from a wheelchair. The Otter Sports Center is on a hill, with limited wheelchair accessible parking. Contact Parking Services at (831) 582-3573 if you have difficulties finding accessible parking. People with mobility limitations may need to park across the road from the Otter Sports Center, by Ocean Hall (Bldg. 86) or arrange rides via the wheelchair accessible Otter Trolley or Monterey-Salinas Transit.

Outdoor Recreation has a De-Bug Beach wheelchair with large tires for off road trails and  beach access.  Contact Outdoor Recreation regarding availability as priority is for science field trips, courses and other required activities.

CSUMB also has an adaptive handcycle available for rent through the Otter Cycle Center. Meet with an SDR Advisor to determine eligibility for a free rental.
