Field Education
Field Education
Field education is the signature pedagogy of Social Work. The MSW program provides opportunities for students to complete their year-long field practicums with a minimum of 960 hours in a variety of host settings, under the mentorship of a qualified MSW Social Worker. MSW field education facilitates generalist and advanced competencies in social work practice through the integration of classroom and field experiences. All students are required to complete four field seminar courses listed below along with tracking their field education hours and requirements online through CalState S4. Please reference the MSW Field Manual for additional requirements.

- SW 596 - Field Practicum I
- SW 598 - Field Practicum II
- SW 696 - Advanced Field Practicum I
- SW 698 - Advanced Field Practicum II
